Today we find out which Aboriginal programs will receive funding for the year and which will not.
Funding for Aboriginal people is a double edged sword because it creates division between groups who all require funding and creates a great deal of instability when funding is discontinued. That instability, along with the Indian Act (that has entrenched First Nations in a system of dependency limits economic freedom and opportunities for First Nations) are major contributing factors to the socio-economic realities experienced by First Nations people.
